The website only allowed me to book one person per date, so I had to make two separate bookings. Unfortunately, one of them defaulted to the date I made the booking instead of the date I wanted for the class and I didn’t notice until later.
I tried to contact them by email but never received a reply. I also tried calling several times, but no one answered.
When I arrived on the day I wanted to attend, I explained what had happened. The staff member was polite and apologetic, but essentially shrugged and said there was nothing they could do because the class was full. I understand they prepare ingredients in advance and couldn’t simply add another person.
What I find disappointing is that no one contacted me when I didn’t attend the class on the incorrect date. If someone had reached out, the mistake could have been identified and resolved much earlier. Instead, the first communication I received was a request to leave a review.
It was ultimately my mistake for not checking the booking confirmation more carefully. However, I was disappointed by the lack of customer service when I tried to resolve the issue. If you’re considering booking, I’d recommend looking for a place where customer service is taken more seriously. Galeries Lafayette is such a large business that, in my experience, they didn’t seem concerned whether I attended or not.

I loved everytthing about the experience. The way the space was set up, the kind and knowledgeable chef, the interaction with the class, and of course, making our own macarons. I was very intiminated at the thought of ever knowing how to make macarons at home, but I now have the confidence to do it! I highly recommend this experience for the fun factor and knowledge gained. The instructor, location, and overall atmosphere were all very nice, but the workshop itself was disappointing. The instructor prepared the macaron batter herself, so participants were not actually involved in making the macarons from scratch. Each participant only got to pipe two macaron shells, then we mixed the ganache and filled four pre-made macarons.
I expected a hands-on macaron-making class where we would learn and prepare the macarons ourselves. In reality, the workshop was mostly just filling four macarons, which was disappointing.

We had a fantastic cooking lesson and learned all of the tips and tricks of making macarons. Our teacher was amazing! She led everyone through the different parts of the process with ease. This is an absolute must while in Paris. The location was great too because we were able to shop and then go to the rooftop for pictures afterwards.

I have never made macarons because it takes long time but the result is small and not well done.
At the class, we learn how to do it with small tips with 2 hours then complete 2*2 kinds of macarons- chocolate and pistachios!!

Easier recipe/ instruction than other macaron classes I have taken in Paris.
The class was very bland. Very little interaction with the participants. The class area was very sterile.
It would have been nice to have a bathroom in the class area, or at least a place to wash your your hands. Or, access to hand sanitizer.

There was a minor mix up when we arrived because the greeters on the first floor didn't know about the lesson and sent our group to the wrong building, causing a few minutes delay. This is avoidable. In fact the class is on the third floor and it was almost chance that we found out at all.
The lesson supplies exactly 4 Macarons and then you're given a pretty presentation box which is large enough to hold 6. For the sake of a couple grammes of ingredients this could also be avoided.

The macaron class was a lighthearted fun experience for the whole family - 5 adults and 2 kids (ages 7 & 9). It was captivating for all age groups and it was wonderful to learn how to actually make the delicious treats! I walked out confident enough to replicate it at home. I highly recommend you book this while in Paris.

My family of 11 thoroughly enjoyed this class. The kids ranged in age from 10 to 19 and they all loved it. Marie was a great instructor. she let us come to the front and take a turn using the pastry bag to place the macarons on the baking sheet. Marie was clear with instructions on how to make the fillings. She was very helpful in assembling the Macarons. We were thrilled to take our macaroons home with us. I would recommend this class to anyone. You are very fortunate to have Marie working for you.

Je ne recommanderai absolument pas cette activité pour une personne qui souhaite apprendre à faire des macarons, car on ne fait rien du tout. The macaron class was brilliant. The trainer, Marie, was exceptional. She explained everything in the most detailed yet assuring way. Even beginners, like me, felt super comfortable and confident under her pleasant guidance. She gave amazing tips and encouraged us all. The arrangements were perfect too - clean and well-planned. We get the following stuff to take home - 4 macarons made during the class (in a nice box), and printed recipe cards for 2 flavours. The only minor negative experience for me was from a staff at the held desk near the class area, who was rude when I enquired if I can go inside. The ticket instructed participants to be in the class 10 minutes ahead of time, and when I asked about it, she replied rudely. Though this dampened my expectation from the course, Marie more than compensated for this with her amazing class.

I really liked that this class was short and sweet. I like how they broke it down and kept the children’s attention. It was our first day in Paris and the first thing on our schedule. And at the end of our trip, they still say that was one of their most fun experiences. I also wanna make a comment that the concierge was extremely helpful and the communications via email before the class were very prompt.

The instructions on how to make macarons were well explained. But it was scheduled to last 1.5 hours, but we finished after an hour with a lot of downtime. Therefore, it could have been either more elaborate or less expensive. The price-performance ratio is not satisfactory.

The class and the instructor were fantastic and the macarons were the best we had in Paris. The only negative was that there was no communication about where the class was located once inside of Galeries Lafayette. There were no instructions about how you would need to make your way to the third floor and navigate over to this one particular corner of the mall. Luckily, the concierge desk was helpful and able to assist us with finding the class.

My friend and I were very excited for our class only to stand around watching the facilitator mix the ingredients for the macarons and be asked around the room generalised questions about our holidays to Paris in a school classroom like manner, very uncomfortable.
The only contribution to the macaron making was mixing a disproportionate amount of butter with ingredients with an oversized whisk. Needless to say we are very disappointed about the amount of money we spent on this lacklustre “class” that resulted in plain butter tasting macarons. We will not be recommending to anyone we know travelling to Paris.

I attended the Macaron Pastry Class by Galeries Lafayette with my 11- and 13-year-old boys in July 2025, and it was fantastic. The chef explained every step clearly, making it easy for them to understand and follow. They enjoyed hands-on practice piping shells, preparing fillings, and assembling macarons. By the end, they felt confident they could recreate these treats at home. The class was engaging, fun, and perfectly paced for kids. Taking home their own macarons and recipes was a lovely touch. This experience was educational, memorable, and truly inspired my boys to bake more. Highly recommended for families!

This was a fun activity with my 13-year-old granddaughter. Our instructor was lovely, and we all got a chance to try our hand at piping the macaron dough onto a cookie sheet, then filling baked macaron halves with chocolate or pistachio ganache. The instructor shared the recipes, and we are confident we will be able to create something delicious at home this Christmas!

First of all, thank you for the warm welcome and the lovely setting of the macaron course – we truly enjoyed being part of it and appreciated the passion of the instructor.
That said, we were hoping for a bit more hands-on experience, especially considering the price. While it was interesting to watch the teacher demonstrate the different steps, we would have loved the opportunity to be more involved in the full macaron-making process ourselves. In the end, we only got to work on the fillings, which left us a little disappointed, as we had expected a more interactive and immersive experience.
Still, it was a charming afternoon, and we’re grateful for the chance to take part – with just a bit more participant involvement, we believe the course could be truly exceptional.

The entire class was left waiting outside the location 30 minutes past the scheduled start time with no explanation, and yet participants are expected to arrive early and are not permitted to participate if they're 10 minutes late. I ended up leaving and not being able to take part in the class because of an appointment booked for afterwards, as the macaron session was only supposed to run for 2 hours. In addition, this was advertised as a class of 10 people or less, with ages +12 only. There were clearly families there with children younger than that.

Thank you for the wonderful beginner's session of the Macaron pastry class last April.9. My family and I had a wonderful time.The chef was very nice and supportive of all the participants and encouraging .We washed our hands and was handed an apron to prepare for the session .She gave very knowledgeable and useful tips in the preparation, mixing and baking the macarons and piping the ganache .It is done very relax , very clear and easy instruction and demonstrations.We were given a recipe card afterwards and you get to take home the macarons .I highly recommend for beginners ! Do come in early so you can enjoy the Galeries Lafayette , plenty of restaurants and cafe and the shops and the staff are amazing plus you need time to find the location . The staff are lovely! The cooking class was very enjoyable and the chef was great!

The instructor doesn't know the concept of Smiling. she has no clue on how to treat customer nicely.
she was stuck to the curriculum. the information was very good, but the class was not fun.
English accent is heavy, we barely understood what the instructor wants.
we had many cooking classes and this was by far the lowest in value and experience.
I suggest you have a more live, fun to be person and not too strict and rigid instructor who goes by the manual like a robot.

A fun, casual, non-technical course - well geared for wide audiences of nearly all ages. Half demo - half donut yourself approach kept the class duration very accessible. Enjoyed by parents, teens and younger children alike. Instructor was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Would recommend for those who want casual demo and diy blend course.

J’ai été très déçue par cet atelier de macarons. Dès l’arrivée, l’accueil n’était pas chaleureux : la chef n’était ni souriante ni accueillante. En plus, nous avons dû attendre 20 minutes avant de pouvoir entrer, ce qui est inacceptable vu le prix du cours.
Le cours en lui-même était très limité : seulement 1 heure pour préparer deux petites ganaches en très petite quantité.

The chef wasn’t very professional we were late starting and she was on the phone most the time after speaking to other people on this course they felt the same
You don’t actually get to make it from scratch you get to mix butter with Chocolate and stick it in a pre made macaroon
And then you get to watch the chef make the mixture for half hour
Very boring waste of money and waste of precious time as we only had 2 days in Paris

Loved this macaron class. It was a great value compared to other macaron classes in the city and i enjoyed how we got to participate in all aspects of macaron preparation. Our instructor was great. I also loved the recipe cards we were given to take home. I can’t wait to try to bake them myself!

I thought it would be more hands-on, but we watched the instructor do it all. We only did the stuffing for the macarons, which were only two flavours. The instructor was excellent and friendly. However, there are better workshops where they teach you how to make the macaron shells, and you can take what you made ( around 30-40 pieces).

I could not in any good conscience recommend this activity to visitors. It represents terrible value; and yes, I know Paris is one of the most expensive cities in the world, but this was a very ordinary activity. The class ran for under an hour and there was no cooking/baking involved by us "students". We watched our host mix ingredients and create the batter, then show how to pipe. We got a turn of piping and then mixed tiny amounts of two different fillings for the macarons. We took away 4 that we had filled in a box and bag. This was a nice touch, but seriously, this was nothing for 60 euros! Please note, this negative review should not be attributed to our pastry chef host who was very warm and tried hard to engage her audience.

The instructions for finding "The Appartement" were difficult to find. Even asking staff at GL yielded various suggestions for where to go.
Several people mentioned this issue as we gathered before the class began. Better to put the instructions for which building , which floor and how to find the actual class location. The teacher was adorable and presented very well. Everyone I talked with stated they were satisfied with everything. I would recommend this activity to friends coming to Paris.

This was a fun class and a perfect break from typical tourist sightseeing. I really enjoyed watching the instructor and learning new baking techniques. The class size was perfect- not too many people and everyone had more than one chance to try the piping. Everyone's station had all the tools and ingredients needed to make fillings. I was only disppointed that we didn't get to keep our aprons as a souvenier.
Being unfamiliar with Paris and the Galleries LaFayette, I had a little trouble finding the correct building where the class was held. A map attached to the directions would have been helpful. Overall, though, I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in baking, novice or experienced.

Easy to book but in my opinion over-priced for what it was - essentially a tutorial on how to make macarons. We only got to try piping two shells and made ganache for four macarons which we took home and we tasted a couple of shells fresh from the oven. This is not a class where you will actually make your own macarons. The teacher was friendly and helpful but did not tell everyone where to wash hands prior to the class beginning and so when I raised the issue we discovered more than half the class had not washed their hands prior to using shared equipment! It was fun, I did learn some new skills but it was very poor value for money therefore I would not recommend it.

The workshop how to make macarons was shorter than 1,5 hours. We only had to stir some ingredients, the cookies were already made. It was quite simpel and easy. It is expensive related to what you learn and have to do.

While the teacher was good, the whole experience was more a demonstration than hands-on (using pre-made macaron cases) but the biggest drawback was that more than half the participants were children, a few of them under the age of 10. They were totally disinterested and made it difficult to see/hear the instructor. It felt like a school holiday camp.

My two daughters expected to learn and understand how the original French macarons is made of .. from the recipe , material, and technic . But what they have done in the program was only listening and only putting the cream on the preset macarons.

- la personne qui dispensait le cours était un peu froide au départ et est devenue plus conviviale avec le temps ;
- nous avons vu comment réaliser des macarons mais nous n'avons pas appris à les faire nous-même, car nous n'avons pas réalisé les coques de macarons, nous avons simplement réalisé deux ganaches nous-même ;
- les ganaches ont été réalisées en mélangeant du beurre avec du chocolat fondu (pour celle au chocolat) et du beurre avec de la poudre d'amande, de la poudre de pistache et une noisette de praliné pistache (pour celle à la pistache), rien de très compliqué comme manipulations, et en les mangeant, nous ne sentions que le beurre ;
- les goûts choisis (chocolat et pistache) ne plaisent pas à tout le monde, nous aurions aimé choisir nous-même nos goûts ou avoir des goûts plus fruités, représentant davantage l'été ;
- nous sommes repartis seulement avec quatre macarons.
Pour toutes ces raisons, nous trouvons que le prix de 59 euros par personne est trop élevé.

This was a great workshop. I learned a lot from the instructor, who would tell you the WHY behind the steps we were taking, or other ways you could make things work with a different home setup, troubleshooting, etc. Very knowledgeable, fun, and didn't teach too much extra "fluff" that was unnecessary. The class was well-paced so we did not feel either rushed nor like a lot of time was wasted. Overall an excellent experience. The only downside is that it was a little bit hard to find where we were supposed to meet given the directions/ location. Give yourself an extra 10-15 minutes to walk around the site, ask at information, etc. to ensure you find the location by the proper start time.

Marie led a fun, inviting class that we enjoyed immensely. Our class made our own macaron shells and filling, but used shells that Marie had already prepped in advance so that we could finish within the allotted 90 min time slot. Our macarons were tasty and made for a fun souvenir for me and my daughters.
We appreciated the small class size (9 people including ourselves).
None of us appreciated when a noisy family arrived nearly an hour late and then tried to join the class. Marie kindly directed them to the customer service desk where they could obtain a refund, but they kept resisting. Even once they accepted that they would not be able to join the class, they stayed around, talking loudly amongst themselves.
One other note: ask registrants if they have any food allergies on the registration page, and point out that the class will be working around nuts. One person in our party was allergic to nuts and wasn't able to participate fully.

Chef’s attitude isn’t good at all making the experience kind of traumatizing, which is not the point of vacations.

Lovely experience and great teacher. However the course only includes the making of the macaron fillings you don’t get the make the actual macarons during the lesson yourself. They show you how, but you aren’t a part of the baking process. Would say it is a bit over pieced for what it is…

The class and room were well organized and the instructor was great. She gave us clear instructions and many tips as well as recipes to take home. We were a little disappointed because we thought we would be involved in baking the macarons from start to finish, but this was not the case. Because the shells need to dry before baking them, there was not enough time in the class. Instead, the first part involved us gathered around the instructor's work bench while she walked us through making the shell dough. We each then got to pipe 2 macarons onto a baking sheet. While those dried and then baked, we went to our work stations and made two types of fillings. We used this to fill four already baked shells. By the end of the class, the shells that were baking were done, so we could see what they were supposed to look like when done. It was enjoyable, but not what we thought it would be, and we ate fewer macarons than expected. The ones we did eat were delicious!

I was disappointed that we didn’t actually make the macarons and just watched the instructor got fast through making it in front of us. All we did was whisk some butter with chocolate for 10min and then scoop the filling into pre made macaron shells. Then did the same with the pistachio filling. I put fun as 4 stars because the energy that people also taking the class was good people were talking to each other and engaging. I would say for the amount of money I thought at least I would be making my own batch of macarons but I was mistaken. If you plan on taking the class it’s less hands on then you would expect.

Given the time constraints, we wouldn't have been able to make our macarons from start to finish so it was so smart to have premade shells ready so that we can learn how the shells are made then learn how the ganache is made as the shells bake and we would still be able to take some home after. The instructor was very knowledgeable and was very open to answering all the different questions we had. We got to try some things ourselves to get a feel for it which I enjoyed. Honestly I was expecting a class of two hours as described where we make our own macaroons... what we do is watch the teacher make macaroons mix (this is something that I know for experience that you need to do kt and get guidance to learn if the consistency is good or not, not just see) for 10 min. Then pipe that mix and then let it dry for half an hour and bake for 10-15 min. The class had no bathroom, was less than an actual hour and a half and we only mixed chocolate and butter to fill the premade macaroon the teacher did herself. For the amount of money and people in the class i can imagine is nice to charge what they do and make us play-pretend-cook by whisking butter and chocolate but make no mistake: this is no class.

My friend and I registered for the class and while disappointed that we needed 3 seats and only were able to secure 2, it was a well taught class. The instructor walked us through every stage, pointed out where things could go wrong and gave us hands on experience making the macrons. I would do this again and it is easy enough to bring kids along.

I would not recommend this workshop. It is vastly overpriced for the experience offered.
You do not get to do very much yourself because the 'cookies' need to dry before you can fill them - which the lady running it claims takes more than the time allowed for the entire workshop. I recently took the macaron workshop with my 12-year old granddaughter, and we both enjoyed it immensely. The chef-instructor was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of professional tips. We appreciated the clear instructions and hands-on experience, plus receiving the recipes at the end of class. Most importantly, the macarons were delicious - so much better than one usually buys in the stores. This was a great experience - highly recommend!

I didn't realize we wouldn't be making the actual shells ourselves which is the part I wanted to learn, so it was unfortunate that they only showed us how to make them. We did pipe out a couple shells but we didn't even use the shells that were made in class (I'm guessing because of time constraints). It didn't really feel like I "made" the macarons myself. I did learn some tips here and there, but it would be better to have provided the recipe card beforehand and a pen to jot down notes and tips.

I was expecting to actually have a go at making the meringue, piping and baking the macarons. There was minimal hands-on involvement and instead, it was more like a demonstration and talk rather than the cooking class I was expecting. In the end it proved to be an overpriced box of macarons and recipe card. I wouldn't recommend this to others.

We attended the macaron pastry class as a family of 4 (2 teenage boys). The instructor was very kind and fun and explained the process well. However, we didn't have a lot of hands-on experience. We mostly watched as the instructor did the work. We all got a turn to pipe a few macarons on the sheet, and then we were given 4 macarons each to fill with a simple filling that we stirred together ourselves. Honestly I don't think it was worth the high price to do so little, receive just a few tips from the instructor, and only end up with 4 macarons in the end. I wouldn't recommend this class to friends.

It was a lovely time spent with my daughter during our trip to Paris. The kitchen was beautiful, and the class was held with sophistication. We didn't actually take the macarons we made home which were needing to be baked and cooled but took other pre-made ones in which whisked the ganache for them. We were able to see the final product after our macarons were taken out of the oven. Regardless, the macarons were packaged in a cute box in a Galeries Lafayette shopping bag with the take-home recipes to make macarons. It was a great presentation and lovely way to spend the morning.

I expected to at least bake some macarons myself, but the workshop turned out to listening to a story how macarons are made (and 'the teacher' making them). For the last 10 minutes, you may beat some butter with chocolate using a whisk (ganache). You should spray this on macarons that have already been baked by others. You leave the workshop with six macarons, while only the ganache has been made bij yourself. If this is not a problem for you, you should book this workshop. You can buy a lot of macarons for 118 euros....

What a lovely place to learn to make macarons- in the heart of Paris at Galeries Lafayette. In an afternoon we learnt tips and tricks to make macarons with a crisp shell and smooth ganache filling- then popped up to the rooftop for photos with the Paris skyline and wandered though the store.
Our lovely teacher demonstrated in english how to make the shells and we learnt how to pipe them onto the tray, then made several different fillings. We took home 5 macarons each. Our teacher paced the class well and made it easy to follow- it was appealing for good cooks and non-cooks, and suits families. We loved it.

Please ask ticket holders to open the ticket and read the fine print as to the location of the class. NO ONE in store had any idea what we were talking about when asked the location of the class. They sent us to 3 different buildings and various floors. Obviously it was my mistake not reading the fine print. The class was mediocre at best.

Je pensais que c’était un cours complet mais nous n’avons ni fait la meringue ni le macaronage nous avons juste poché deux macarons chacun sur la plaque avec la poche à douille et pour la ganache chocolat elle était déjà prête nous l’avons juste mélangé avec le beurre et juste de quoi faire 2 macarons et idem pour la pistache, nous somme donc partit avec 4 macarons. Cet ateliers est un atelier pour enfant ! Très déçu de ce cours au vu du prix, regarder une vidéo sur internet est de même équivalence que cet atelier et en plus gratuite !

The location of this class was very difficult to find. NO ONE on the mall staff knows where this class was even the customer service staff at 2 floors know where it was. I realized later the exact location from the ticket which was in VERY Very small print. It should be in big bold letters at the start of the confirmation email as the mall itself is easy to find.
I didnt learn anything that I havent seen in youtube. The instructor was very unfriendly. The piping or shaping the cookies was done as do how you wish. We were not given our own ingredients for the bater and we didnt prepare the piping so we can have hands on experience. We were given ingredients for the filling and making that was the easiest part. Making the cookies was the critical part to learn and we were just shown how do nothing different from youtube videos. This is NOT worth the €55! I want a refund.

My friend and I had lots of fun and also learned a lot of good tips during this macaron class! Marie was such a good teacher, making us feel welcomed, taking her time, showing us the process in detail and answering any questions people raised. We all really enjoyed the session, which seemed to fly by all too quickly. Eating the macarons later that day was a great bonus!!
The kitchen classroom was very cosy and welcoming too. It was nice to learn in such an 'international' environment, with other people coming from Canada, Spain, California...we all had a go at piping the macarons and I cannot wait to put all my new learned skills into practice this weekend now I am back home. Thank you again Marie!

In the beginning it seemed to be a little hurry...the lady seemed nervous to get the workshop done in 90 minutes. Especially, when 2 guests showed up late... after the beginning. The workshop itself was very interesting and a memorable experience. I highly recommend it to families with kids/teenagers who are interested in baking and who speak either English or French well enough to be able to follow. I think the lady did a good job presenting and explaining in 2 languages at the same time! Congrats! It's definitely a spot to top the other tourist experiences in Paris. And a way to appreciate every macaron you eat....knowing it needs time, patience and Know-how

We were very underwhelmed by the experience. The woman who weld the course was friendly, but that’s it. There was no warm welcoming (she opened the door but didn’t say a word - we had to ask if we could enter the room), the place is not decorated (very simple, feels like a cantine), no music in the background (sometimes a weird silence), not even a water is offered to us and thus simply not exist a Parisian vibe in that experience as we expected it. Fun, positivity, interaction was definitely missing (how we know it from other baking classes as such).
Also: while we were still in middle of our class (after 45 minutes) a cleaning lady came to wash all dishes in front of us - that was a big big downer and took away even more the vibe. It didn’t feel worth 55€ per person and unfortunately we cannot recommend the event as such, even though when they would put more love into it, it could have more potential. Sorry!

This was one of the most fun experiences I had while in Paris. My 20 year old and I took a macaron making class at Galeries Lafayette. The space is beautiful and the instructor was lovely to learn from.
We had a great time learning the inside tricks of making a perfect macaron. During the class we were able to have hands-on time as well as, watching the expert at work.

What fun! We were given a demonstration of how to make the macaron shells, and then we each mix our own filling and piped it into the shells. We each made four macarons: two chocolate and two pistachio. We were then given the option of eating them, or taking them with us. I highly recommend this activity and will do it again the next time I’m in Paris!

We were very excited to attend the macaron class in the beautiful appartement and although our host was very friendly and the experience was very educational it was mostly a demonstration and not a baking class.
I expected to make the macarons myself from start to finish and I believe that that is what the class should be. For the price, only filling pre-made macarons is not good value for money.

Our experience was okay. We had a nice instructor, Joanna, and the facilities were nice. But we had expected a more hands-on experience. Instead, we mostly watched, and then were given very basic hands-on activities: mixing premeasured ingredients, squeezing out premixed ingredients, and spooning on our simple ganache onto premade cookies. Not highly involved. Joanna provided lots of helpful tips and explanation. However some of the important tips, like tapping the cookie tray, were not included on the written recipe provided.

I expected to practice my french, so I was a little disappointed.

Dommage qu’il n’y ait pas d’endroit clairement disponible pour se laver, essuyer les mains et jeter le papier à la poubelle. Il a fallu que je demande, les autres participants m’ont imité ensuite.
Rien pour poser vêtements et sacs. Un verre d’eau ou une fontaine à eau disponible pendant cette activité serait bienvenu.
Dans l’ensemble activité plutôt sympa et plein de conseils utiles. Ça a aussi plu à mon ado de 13 ans.

This was a well priced and fun macaron class at the Galeries Lafayette. I appreciated that it wasn't overly long but be warned that you don't actually make the entire macaron from scratch. I felt like I left with some good tips to try it on my own. I would recommend though that the group is offered water to drink or aprons to wear for the class.

J'ai trouvé ce cours de macaron vraiment peu intéressant. Alors on a bien eu une recette pour faire des macarons mais cet atelier n'apporte selon moi aucune plus value par rapport à une vidéo sur Youtube. Lors de mon cours nous étions 18 personnes. Alors évidement il n'y a pas vraiment de pratique. La seule pratique que nous avons fait était demélanger un peu de beurre avec un peu de chocolat fondu...
Je ne recommande pas du tout de faire cette activité que vous soyez un amateur de cuisine ou que vous cherchiez une activité à faire avec des enfants. Ce n'est pas cette activité.
Au final on sort de cette Atelier avec 4 macarons et deux feuilles de recette...

I would very much recommend this class. Class leader was very knowledgable and explained macron making procedure on very easy and understandable way, so also children could follow and understand. At the and, we were quite small group of seven and class lasted longer than 1h, therefore we had a lot of time for our questions and all of us got a chance to try how to gush the macron shells. We also learned few tricks for making the filling. Great value for the money and I will for sure try the recipe at home.

Though it was a bit difficult to find - the entire experience was amazing! Extremely well organized , gorgeous working space and very charming instructor. I am a French teacher and had five of my high school students
with me and they loved it. Very easy to book through the Go City card. Would highly recommend this experience! I would mention on the booking that it is on the 6th floor and called l’appartement - many store workers we asked didn’t know where it was.

We had a lovely experience with our baker. She did a great job pausing and showing us each step. She was very encouraging while we mixed and plotted our cookies.
The only feedback was that it was difficult to find for a tourists since there are three building and store employees sent us to the wrong area three times.

La personne qui encadrait l’activité était très gentille ! Toutefois, il s’agit d’une activité très bien pour les touristes mais pas pour réellement apprendre à faire des macarons. En effet, nous n’avons rien fait d’autre que de faire la ganache des macarons (mélanger du beurre et un peu de chocolat, pistache). Heureusement que la femme donne quand même de bons conseils pour réaliser les macarons ! Attention, cours 100% anglais !

This class was disappointing. I was so looking forward to it, but it was mostly sitting and listening to the instructor for 90 minutes, more of a lecture on how to bake macarons with no actual baking. We squeezed batter for two macarons out of the pastry bag onto a baking tray and mixed the ingredients to fill a chocolate and pistachio macaron. The instructor was lovely and shared useful baking tips.
Also, the classroom was nearly impossible to find. I was emailed the street address in my reservation confirmation email, but store employees either didn't know where to find the class or said it was in one of the other two buildings. We spent 45 minutes being sent to the wrong location and were about to give up when one person knew were we needed to be--which was on the third floor in the "apartment." With more than 750,00 square feet in the three buildings, specific directions to find the class are necessary.

I regret participating in the Macaron Pastry Class at Galeries Lafayette. I didn't make macarons, but instead, I watched someone make them. The class is held in a cold, dark, and very quiet room. It was a bit depressing. The woman teaching the class was lovely but the whole presentation was very long and boring. I can't recommend this class.

The 1.5hr session was led by pastry chef Jennifer - she was very welcoming, friendly, and engaging. We learned how to make and pipe macaron shells as a group and then filled pre-made shells to take 4 macarons home. A lovely experience, however for 55 euro I was expecting to be able to make our own macarons and also take more than 4 (!) home. The price is potentially more reflective of the luxury location.

The class was very educational and fun!! Highly recommend. We loved our instructor who made the class interesting and offered very good tips! However I wish there was a better description of where the lass was located. That part was very confusing. I had to ask several people and call to confirm the location.

I loved the class format. Marie was wonderful! I am looking forward to trying to bake macarons at home. Before the class, I thought they would be too hard to make. it was nice but it was hard to find the lab, there were no indications and almost no one who works there knew where it was taking place (apartment, 3rd floor). the first part was nice but a little bit fast, the rest was an amazing experience.

Being in the iconic Galleries LaFayette Hausman and learning to make iconic macarons~ what could be more festive?! This class, taught by bilingual Marie, was a fun way to spend a little time in a very easy class. Marie was easy to understand and follow. A lovely recipe card and the macarons we made were great souvenirs.
Only thing that I would warn about is the stools. The stools are SOLID heavy metal, and sitting on them for over 10 minutes became very uncomfortable to many. We could easily stand up and change positions but still be good at the counters.
I would recommend this to anyone (even young people 10+) to demystify making the French Macaron.

J'ai beaucoup appris lors de ce cours de macarons, et Marie a été très sympa et a beaucoup répondu aux questions. Cependant, je suis un peu déçue de ne pas avoir pu réaliser les coques nous-mêmes, puisque c'est l'étape la plus compliquée. Mais au moins, le cours permet de voir la texture que doit avoir la pâte et quel sera le rendu. Le petit plus c'est que l'on repart avec la recette et quelques macarons.

The hands on class was just enough to get a feel for making this colorful and flavorful treat. The instructor was generous with her time and answered all questions, We all took home 4 macarons that we created. It was fun and a good way to start the day. The only negative issue was finding the kitchen, signage was a little confusing to us. When in doubt ask.

It would be better if they can have someone who can speak English better or just label it as French only and I would not have bought the tickets. I couldn’t understand most of the lady’s English and thought that I could take some video to refresh my memory. She scolded me for taking the video which I didn’t see anywhere saying that we can’t take video. Overall I found the experience underwhelming and disappointing.

I didn't like the fact that we didn't cook, we just looked the chef prepare the mixture. We just mixture some easy ganache made only with butter. Nothing special, I do not suggest it. I thought it was a masterclass to know and to prepare macarons. Its just like looking some TV series on cooking. Also the macarons aren't so good. They are sticky. They only let you prepare two cover of macarons, and a little ganache made with butter.... very disappointed.

Le lieu est très agréable mais pas facile à trouver. Nous avons aimé les petites astuces transmises par la Cheffe mais avons été déçu car en réalité il n'y a quasi pas de manipulation soi-même et c'est ce qu'on était venu chercher. This would have been one of the highlights of our trip. However, upon arriving to what actually was the correct location and asking two employees, the doorman and a concierge for directions to where the class was located in the store we were redirected to another building. After asking the concierge at that location we were sent to the other location. If you see thebsize of these department stores, you know how long this trek took us. We ended up finally finding an employee who knew of the cooking class and she took us to the correct location of the class. Needless to say, by that time the class was half over and the instructor looked at us like we were crazy. She advised us to try to get our money back, which seems impossible because I cannot find a phone number to reach a person to speak to. With all of that being said, NO, I do not reccomend this offer to friends!

Marie, die Patissière ist sehr nett und kompetent. Marie hat uns gezeigt, wie man den Teig herstellt und die Macarons spritzt. Wir durften selber die Füllung für Schokoladen- und Pistazienmacarons machen.
Ich hätte gerne selber für meine Macarons den Teig hergestellt, die Macarons Böden gespritzt und meine Böden mit der Ganache gefüllt.
2 Stunden wären dafür aussreichend gewesen.
Leider haben wir nur jeder 4 Macarons gefüllt und mitnehmen können.
Daher bei "Value" nicht die gesamte Punktzahl.

The chef was very clear about the basics of how to make macarons. Explained everything and gave tips on how to make macarons better.
The booking was quick and easy, and the place where the activity was hosted was perfect, clean, and spacious.
I would have liked to do the merengue and incorporate the almond flour myself, but I understand that having mixing machines for everyone might be costly, perhaps a low-end mixer to have the full experience could be even better.,

Our chef was very nice and explained every step for making macarons with a lot of enthusiasm and detail. It was a delight listening to her and following her instructions. Also the combination of presentation and hands-on practice was a good equilibrium. Both my daughter (13) and I enjoyed the class very much and already recommended it to friends.

We both really enjoyed the course. We were expecting to make macaroons from start to finish but that probably more our fault for not reading it properly. We enjoyed making the fillings for the macaroons and were happy with our final results.
The lady leading the course was lovely. I would definitely recommend and will be trying to make them again when at home.

I paid €147 for myself and two daughters. The description implied that we would be making macaron. However, we only watched someone make them and then mixed a bit of filling and stuck 4 macaron together. Total waste of time in my opinion.

Our instructor - Marie - was absolutely delightful! She explained everything so well and simply that even the most experienced bakers in the class learned some new tips and tricks. She was encouraging and positive and made the class so enjoyable. The macarons we made were very tasty and I can't wait to try making them again at home! Would definitely recommend this class to anyone looking for a fun morning/afternoon activity. Following the class, we shopped in the beautiful Galeries-Lafayette store and then made our way to the rooftop terrace to enjoy the views over Paris. Merci Marie!!

I very much enjoyed every bit of it! The thing i liked most was the personality of the instructor she was amazing, and very helpful in a fun way! There weren't any difficulties for me, the overall experience was really educational yet entertaining at the same time. And yes i would definitely recommend it.

My 16-year old daughter wanted to learn how to bake macarons, so we signed up for a class. Marie, the instructor, is wonderful! She is such a fun, friendly, delightful and positive person. I really enjoyed eating the butter and chocolate while we were mixing it in the bowl. The macarons that we made on the cookie tray tasted just like brownies. So delicious :) My daughter and I had a great time in Marie's macaron bakery class and we're so glad we signed up. Merci beaucoup Marie!

A great class, would recommend. Excellent instruction and fun. You aren’t able to complete the whole process of making the macaroon due to the hours actually needed to work through the steps. But, they explain and give recipes to take home.

The pastry chef was amazing (it was her first day doing it but made it so fun and informative.)
We got to make four macarons - chocolate and pistachio - and got the recipe to take home at the end.
The setting was a spacious kitchen inside the beautiful Galeries Lafayette.

To be honest, I wanted to make macarons from the beginning by myself, however, it was disappointing that macaron shell making was done only by the instructor (we could just see the demonstration). Also, making macaron cream was too simple (just mix the ingredients already prepared), and I could hardly say that the taste was good.

We had lots of fun making the ganache for our macarons. Clear explanations and lovely teacher. Macarons turned out quite good too. I’d recommend to make a few more though, so you don’t go home with a large box that’s half empty. Nice presentation is as important as the process. Overall would definitely recommend!

Je pensais que cet atelier allais me permettre de faire la recette entièrement et non regarder. Je pensais que j’allais pouvoir faire une quinzaine de macarons et la ganache en conséquence. Au final, je suis repartie avec 4 petits macarons et je n’ai pu en pocher que 2. Je suis vraiment déçue de cet atelier. Cependant, le cours est bien dispensé, et les conseils sont présents. Les fiches recettes fournies sont claires. J’ai eu la réponse à mes questions, j’aurais aimé la pratique. Je ne recommande pas cet atelier aux personnes qui sont désireuses d’apprendre la technique mais plutôt à celle qui souhaitent un divertissement.

The course was conducted in a group of 10 by a friendly chef/teacher who is both fluent in French and English. It was fun and engaging, with techniques such as piping taught. You will receive a box to contain your macaroons for takeaway. Suitable for children and adults likewise. Do note there are pre-made macaroon shells prepared in advance (though you get a shot at trying to make a batch yourself)

This was a great activity. Well organized and prepared. Our teacher was very informative and helpful and friendly. All of the ingredients were pre measured and prepared in advance to allow for a very relaxing and stress free experience. We received the recipes for future use and cute little boxes to round off the experience.
This was not a deep dive master class in macaron baking but rather a kid/novice baker friendly experience. I would definitely recommend to others.

We booked this class to do something different but fun and delicious during our stay in Paris. The class was just the right size and everything was set up and ready when we walked in. The tables were prepped with everything we needed to make 2 different ganache fillings for our macarons. We watched the demonstration for how to make the shells and then were able to "practice" forming the shells using the mixture made by the class instructor. She then instructed us on how to make a chocolate filling and gave us pre-made shells for 2 macarons each while our "practice" shells were baking in the oven. They were all collected so they could chill in the fridge while we made the next set. We also then made a pistachio ganache filling for 2 pistachio shells and filled those as well. We were given the clear plastic boxes to put all of our macarons (4 total for each person) and we were able to tastes the shells we made as well. What a fun, delicious and interesting class!

The pastry chef was not very enthusiastic and she was hard to hear. It was also hard to see what she was doing. She used a mix master and there was no mirror above to see how she was blending.
We told her we don't eat chocolate and she said there will there be a plain macaron. It was Pistachio. We not only didn't get to make our own, except for the paste, but we never even ate one because we don't eat thosed flavors.
The "class" was not really a class at all, more a demonstration.
